Description
Support Workers required on a casual basis to assist participants with disability in community settings. Responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day support within the community, helping participants live safely, independently, and with dignity
- Assist with personal care routines, including hygiene, dressing, and mobility support
- Support meal preparation and domestic tasks to promote health and daily‑living skills
- Offer transport and social support, helping participants access community activities, appointments, and social connections
- Encourage personal development and goal achievement, tailoring support to individual preferences and aspirations
- Build strong, trusting relationships with participants to better understand their needs and deliver people‑centred care
- Empower individuals to make choices, develop skills, and pursue what matters most to them Qualifications What you will bring
- A genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with individuals, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Empathy, compassion, and emotional resilience, with the ability to build trusting relationships
- Adaptability and patience, especially when responding to complex needs, behavioural challenges, or evolving care requirements
- Strong ability to make decisions and take initiative in challenging environments
- Experience in caring for youth is highly desirable
- Ideal experience in mobility assistance and promoting daily‑living skills, delivered with respect and professionalism
- An understanding of inclusion, independence, and empowerment for people with disabilities, and a commitment to supporting their goals
- Physical aptitude and reliability, enabling you to assist with manual handling, transportation, and active engagement in recreational or community activities
- A proactive and collaborative approach, working as part of a team to deliver high‑quality support and continuously improve outcomes Preferred additional qualifications
- Authorised to work in Victoria
- Valid Victorian Driver Licence
- Understanding of the NDIS, disability, and community services sector
- Certificate III in Individual Support/Disability or studying toward the qualification (highly regarded)
- Minimum two‑year industry experience
- Ability to actively navigate and adapt to change
- Working with Children Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- First Aid/CPR Certificate Benefits
