Sport Development Officer (St Kilda)

The Sport Development Officer (Strength, Conditioning & Nutrition) is responsible for the development, planning, coordinating, delivery and evaluation of structured training and nutrition education programs that enhance participant performance, health, recovery and long-term engagement in sport and physical activity. The role is program led and participant focused, supporting high performance gym environment through athlete development pathways, education, and participation growth. - $80K Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structured strength and conditioning sessions across group, semi‑private and performance‑focused programs
- Apply sound training principles, including progression, periodisation, load management and recovery
- Modify programs to suit individual ability, goals, training background and injury considerations
- Support hybrid and performance‑focused training models aligned with our programming philosophy
- Demonstrate exercises and movement patterns to ensure safe and effective technique
- Provide general, non‑clinical nutrition education to support training and performance outcomes
- Educate participants on fuelling, hydration, recovery nutrition, and competition preparation
- Integrate nutrition education into training sessions, onboarding processes and workshops, and refer to accredited professionals where clinical advice is required
- Support participant onboarding into structured training and education pathways
- Contribute to clear participant development and progression pathways
- Monitor and analyse attendance, engagement and participation trends
- Assist with strategies that encourage consistency, long‑term participation and client retention
- Deliver education sessions covering safe training practices, performance fundamentals and nutrition basics
- Support community and introductory programs aligned with our values and training approach
- Collaborate with coaches to maintain consistency in program delivery and education messaging
- Contribute to education‑led marketing and retention initiatives, including sharing training and nutrition insights for digital content
- Promote a positive training experience that supports re‑engagement, referrals and word‑of‑mouth growth, and provide feedback to senior staff to support continuous improvement Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or higher qualification in Sports Development, Nutrition or Performance Nutrition (non‑clinical),
- Commerce or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in gym or functional fitness environments
- Ability to explain nutrition concepts in a clear, practical manner.
