The Withdrawal & Intake Program is to provide a single access point for persons seeking to access the AOD withdrawal support and Rehabilitation Services that Windana provides. Reporting to the Manager Intake, the Intake and Assessment Worker coordinates all intake procedures, from their initial enquiry through to admission. The role manages the client assessment and waitlist and conducts readiness for change scales and clinical risk assessments. Liaising with external stakeholders, the role supports the client in accessing services and provides regular progress reports directly to the Service Manager. Conduct comprehensive screening service for prospective clients requesting access to services using relevant AOD screening tools. Present referrals of prospective clients to clinical review and at weekly clinical team meetings. Under the guidance of the Intake Manager, process client referrals according to clinical review outcome. Support new clients on the waitlist seeking treatment for their AOD use to transition into treatment by providing all relevant information on the program. Identify all relevant services that will support client upon their exit based on the initial intake assessment. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to obtain feedback on intake, timeframes and access to treatment to reduce wait times and improve intake and admission process. Participate in individual and group supervision on a regular basis for operational and clinical purposes. Ensure risk assessments and safety plans are undertaken for clients identified at risk to themselves and/or others. Ensure all relevant documentation is captured into client management system (MasterCare) in a timely manner, including Centrelink, health and justice records **What we're looking for**: Previous case management or Intake experience working collaboratively with clients with substance misuse problems, their families or carers Experience working in a clinical setting delivering a consistent model of care within the sector of alcohol and other drugs, mental health or community service, with an understanding of AOD service navigation Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport, negotiate and facilitate client outcomes and resolve conflict. Proficiency using computer software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and client data base system (e.g. Mastercare). Strong time management skills with an ability to pivot and reprioritise. Bachelor’s degree in social work, Youth Work, Mental Health or other related discipline will be highly regarded. Certificate IV in AOD or 4 AOD core competencies or willingness to undertake within 6 months of employment. Join our team to contribute to our life-changing work.
