Senior Mechanical Engineer, City of Port Phillip

This senior mechanical engineer will lead brownfield mechanical upgrades and capital works across operating metals processing facilities in Melbourne, working from early-phase studies through to detailed design and site support. Responsibilities

Lead mechanical and piping work packages, including specification, selection, and integration of process plant equipment. Apply practical, pragmatic engineering judgement to develop robust, fit‑for‑purpose technical solutions. Build trusted long‑term relationships with clients by understanding their operations and translating business needs into successful project outcomes.Lead multi‑discipline coordination and client partnering. Shape the mechanical team’s technical capability and long‑term strategic direction, including mentoring and developing junior engineers. Work alongside site‑based engineering teams on capital projects, with flexibility to travel and support clients in operational environments.Qualifications

Degree‑qualified Mechanical Engineer. Core experience within minerals and metals processing industry, delivering engineering studies, detailed design, and capital works across operating process plants. Strong technical capability, excellent communication skills, and confidence to influence outcomes.Previous on‑site experience and consulting experience are considered an asset. Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and to partner with clients. Willingness to travel as required. Benefits
