ERIAS , a boutique strategic environmental and social impact assessment consultancy specialising in complex project approvals across the renewable energy, resources, and infrastructure sectors. As their projects continue to grow in scale and complexity, ERIAS is looking for a Technical Director to lead and grow the Marine&Freshwater Sciences practice. What you’ll be doing

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a practitioner who is equally at home in the field, in the boardroom and in front of a client. You will define and advance ERIAS's methodology for marine and freshwater environmental impact assessment– across both developed and developing-country contexts – while building the reputation, the relationships and the team to match.You will own the full service-line remit: technical leadership, business development, team capability, and strategic growth. This is a role for someone who wants to leave a mark– on the practice, on clients, and on the people they bring along with them. What we’re looking for

Technical leadership•

Provide expert technical leadership across marine and freshwater environmental impact assessment.•

Develop ERIAS's frameworks, tools and methodologies for delivering consistent, quantitative assessment across diverse project contexts.•

Ensure the practice stays ahead of evolving codes, guidelines, and best practice across all ERIAS markets.•

Oversee compliance with relevant regulations and drive continuous improvement in technical standards.•

Advise on resourcing and proposal strategy for complex bids involving marine and freshwater science.

Business development•

Build and maintain strong networks with specialist subcontractors, government agencies and clients.•

Contribute to ERIAS's strategic plan and actively identify and convert opportunities aligned to it.•

Lead and support the preparation of major bids, tenders and marketing initiatives.•

Represent ERIAS at conferences and industry forums to grow the practice's profile and pipeline.

Capability building•

Mentor and develop the marine and freshwater team– from induction through to senior practitioner level. •

Identify and champion professional development and training opportunities across the team.•

Communicate marine and freshwater capability internally to support cross-practice collaboration.•

Contribute to the broader ERIAS culture of continuous improvement and high performance. What you bring



The technical depth, the leadership credentials, and the commercial instinct to step into a Director-level role and make it your own.•

Proven experience leading marine and freshwater environmental impact assessment at a senior level.•

Strong command of relevant standards, regulatory frameworks and best practice– locally and internationally. •

A track record of building and winning client relationships, with genuine commercial acumen.•

Exceptional communication skills– written and verbal – with the ability to translate technical complexity for diverse audiences. •

Outstanding leadership and mentoring ability; you invest in people as much as projects.•

Strong organisational and planning skills with impeccable attention to detail.•

A collaborative, adaptable mindset and sound judgement under pressure.•

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Sciences or a related discipline. Why ERIAS
