Director, Production - APAC (Req ID: 10144042)
In this role you will lead and manage all elements of theatrical stage play production for Disney Theatrical Group (DTG) across the APAC region, working closely with DTG NY production and distribution teams to deliver large‑scale musical theatre events, including self‑produced productions and tours across Australia, New Zealand, South‑East Asia, China and Japan. You will oversee day‑to‑day operations of APAC Production teams, manage senior staff, cast and crew, develop key vendor relationships, and support the internal casting process to source local creative talent. Strong commercial and financial acumen is required to achieve regional and local budget targets and align with corporate objectives.Responsibilities
Coordinate all aspects of theatrical stage play production for DTG across APAC. Lead large‑scale musical theatre events and oversee self‑produced productions and tours. Manage APAC Production teams, including senior staff, cast, and crew. Develop and maintain vendor relationships and manage the internal casting process.Ensure financial and commercial objectives are met within regional and local budgets. Build strong internal and external relationships to uphold the Disney brand and ensure smooth operations. Provide inclusive leadership across all production disciplines. Navigate complex scenarios, think proactively, and consider potential outcomes of decisions.Qualifications
Significant experience in all aspects of general management for large‑scale musical productions. Comprehensive experience in a theatrical environment with strong knowledge of industry practices. Proven experience managing diverse and sizeable teams. Ability to negotiate and apply past theatrical field experiences to provide expertise.Skilled at building partnerships and commercial relationships within the industry. Highly developed strategic and tactical skill set. Experience negotiating vendor contracts and managing budgets in a similar role. Strong inclusive leadership and team development capabilities.
