- $98,867 pro-rata + 11.5% superannuation **Location**:Corporate Centre in Sandringham, with occasional flexibility to work from home

**About the Role**: An exciting opportunity to optimise the wellbeing and resilience of older people in Bayside through the delivery of information, programs and events that support their engagement and participation in all aspects of community life. Utilising a community development approach, the role will support the development and delivery of creative and innovative programs and activities to support people to age well.

You will be responsible for:

- Proposing, promoting, facilitating and/or leading the delivery of events, activities and programs that support socialisation opportunities to older people.
- Advocating for the needs of older adults within the community.
- Utilising a community development approach to identify and respond to issues and barriers associated with wellbeing and social connection for older people.
- Supporting and encouraging groups to identify funding sources to support relevant activities.
- Overseeing internal volunteer programs and supporting external volunteers in community groups and organisations

**Key Selection Criteria**: To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

- Tertiary qualification in community development, health sciences or a related field is desirable.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in community development work, preferably within a local government context.
- The ability to liaise with agencies and groups to facilitate innovative program solutions.
- Demonstrated experience in proposing creative recommendations to address identified gaps and adverse situations that may be impacting people as they age.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Skills and experience working collaboratively and cooperatively with community members, internal and external stakeholders.
- The ability to work as part of a team, and a strong commitment to maintaining a high standard customer service culture.
- Intermediate level Microsoft Office skills

**Mandatory pre-employment requirements**:

- Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check.
- Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check
- Be fully vaccinated with at least two approved COVID-19 vaccines or have proof of medical exemption, in accordance with Community Care's COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
