Full Time Cook (Sandringham)

Sandy Kiosk is seeking a skilled and motivated Full-Time Cook to join our busy beach front hospitality venue in Sandringham VIC. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment serving quality breakfast and lunch meals to our loyal local community and visitors in one of Melbourne’s most scenic coastal locations. Position: Full-Time Cook Salary: $80,000 per annum plus Superannuation Location: Sandringham VIC Employment Type: Full-Time Minimum Requirements:
- Relevant qualification equivalent to AQF Certificate III or higher in Commercial Cookery or Hospitality from a registered institution
- Minimum 1 year relevant work experience in a commercial kitchen or hospitality environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Must be available to work weekends and rotating shift rosters Duties & Responsibilities Include:
- Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
- Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
- Preparing and cooking food
- Seasoning food during cooking
- Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
- Storing food in temperature controlled facilities
- Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
- Maintaining high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Assisting with kitchen operations and daily food preparation
- Monitoring stock rotation and food storage procedures
- Ensuring cleanliness and compliance with food safety regulations
- Working efficiently during busy service periods
- May plan menus and estimate food requirements
- May train other kitchen staff and apprentices
