Job Title: Cook/Chef Employer: Drift Kitchen & SKØL Bar Location: Scarborough, Western Australia Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $70,000 to $85,000 Drift Kitchen & SKØL Bar is a vibrant, dual-concept venue operating under one roof in Scarborough. By day, we are a bustling café offering fresh, seasonal brunch dishes and specialty coffee. By night, we transform into SKØL Bar a Scandinavian-inspired cocktail and wine bar offering seasonal share plates and a curated beverage list. We are seeking skilled Chefs and Cooks to join our growing team. You’ll be part of a kitchen that values quality, sustainability, and a creative approach to casual dining, working across both daytime and evening services within a unified kitchen. Ideal Candidates Will Have:
- Proven experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably with exposure to both café and small-plate/bar service.
- Passion for fresh, seasonal cooking and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain high standards under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Team-oriented approach with strong communication skills.
- Solid understanding of WHS, kitchen hygiene, and food safety standards. Key Responsibilities – Chef
- Plan and coordinate the preparation and cooking of all menu items across both services.
- Develop and execute seasonal dishes in line with the venue’s culinary direction.
- Supervise and lead kitchen staff, maintaining consistency and quality.
- Assist with inventory management, cost control, and ordering.
- Uphold standards of presentation, portioning, and timing.
- Ensure compliance with Work Health & Safety (WHS), hygiene, and HACCP regulations.
- Contribute to team development through training and mentoring. Skills and experience:
· Relevant qualification or 3 years of experience in lieu of the qualification
· At least 1 year of experience
· Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
· Solid teamwork and communication skills. Key Responsibilities – Cook
· Prepare and cook a wide variety of menu items, including brunch favourites, share plates, and small dishes.
· Follow recipes and plating standards to maintain consistency and quality.
- Support daily food preparation, cooking and cleaning duties.
- Assist with stock rotation and storage in line with food safety standards.
- Work closely with the Chef to deliver smooth service across both café and bar offerings.
- Ensure compliance with Work Health & Safety (WHS), hygiene, and HACCP regulations. Skills and experience:
