Marist180 is currently seeking applications from experienced Policy Advisor to join our team. About the Role The Policy Advisor will be responsible for researching, developing, and reviewing organisational and program specific policies and procedures. This role will involve working closely with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, government policy, contractual obligations. The position is a senior role, reporting to the Executive Manager Governance and Risk, and integral to ensuring legislative compliance and contractual obligations are reflected in the organisations policies and procedures. This role supports the provision of quality services to vulnerable young people and their families by developing the policies and procedures by which we provide client-facing services and verifying that those policies and processes are consistent and integrated across the organisation. Primary accountabilities of the role of Policy advisor include, but are not limited to:
- Review and develop all organisational and child related programmatic policies and procedures to ensure alignment with legislative requirements and industry best practices.
- Support and contribute to the tendering and roll-out of Marist180 programs by developing policies and procedures that guide service delivery and related internal functions.
- Undertake research and consultation with internal and external stakeholders to inform policy/procedure development.
- Provide communication and subject matter advice on policies
- Manage the organisations Law Compliance portal
- Keep abreast of, and advise on legislative obligations and changes
- Undertake compliance audits to ensure policies & procedures are reviewed per policy cycle
- Document control approved records including guidelines, manuals and form documentation
- Provide governance support, maintaining COI register, Contracts register, Risk register etc
- Assist in project initiatives as they arise.
- Provide quality support and coordination for external audits and accreditations The candidate Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in relevant field e.g LLB, Social Policy. Experience & Skills:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, drafting policy and procedural documents preferably in a NFP setting.
- High standard of written and spoken communication skills.
- Prior experience in OOHC sector or youth/child protection services.
- Experience in consulting with key stakeholders in the development of procedural documents.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and prompting a culture of continuous improvement. Work Requirement:
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Explicit National Criminal History Check.
- Unrestricted NSW driver’s license.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Eligibility to work in Australia.
- Provide Marist180 consent to complete a verification of the Residential Care Workers Register managed by the Office of the Children’s Guardian.
