About Us We are a growing Civil Engineering and Building consultancy delivering high-quality civil engineering, certification, and hydraulic design solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial developments throughout Sydney. Due to continued growth and increasing project demand, we are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to join our team located in Blacktown NSW 2148. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers, certifiers, and drafters on a wide range of projects in a collaborative and professional environment. About the Role As a Civil Engineer at Paragon, you will be responsible for the preparation and consultation of civil and stormwater designs, hydraulic modelling, technical reports, and coordination with clients, consultants, and councils. You will work on a variety of residential and commercial developments while using industry-standard engineering software and complying with Australian Standards and council requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Stormwater drainage design for residential and commercial developments
- Design of Onsite Detention (OSD) and retention systems
- Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD)
- Flood modelling and Flood Impact Assessment preparation
- Rigid and flexible pavement design
- Hydraulic and hydrologic modelling
- Preparation of engineering drawings and technical reports
- Coordination with architects, builders, developers, councils, and consultants
- Site inspections and project coordination as required
- Review of survey plans, existing infrastructure, and council requirements
- Liaising with internal drafting and engineering teams to ensure timely project delivery Software Experience Experience using the following software is preferred:
- OSD4W
- DRAINS
- HEC-RAS
- TUFLOW
- AutoCAD / Civil 3D (preferred) Skills & Experience To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor Degree or higher qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in civil engineering design
- Experience working on residential and/or commercial projects
- Knowledge of Australian Standards, NCC, and local council requirements
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Current Australian driver licence Benefits
