Warehouse Assistant & Carpet Cutter (Knoxfield)

**Position: Warehouse Assistant & Carpet Cutter**

**Location: 7 Brand Rd, Knoxfield VIC 3180**

**Job Type: Full-Time**

**Hours: 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with overtime and some Saturdays as required**

**Reporting to: Warehouse Manager**

**Responsibilities**:

- **Warehousing and Storage**: Ensure all deliveries are tagged and stored appropriately. Maintain a neat and orderly work workplace, keeping all exits and fire extinguishers clear at all times. Manage waste disposal and separation of carpet/underlay in their appropriate bins.
- **Cutting and Preparing Carpet**: Follow specific procedures for each job, including assessing jobs before cutting, checking job sheets and plans, and ensuring correct stock allocations. Manage cutting operations to minimize waste and optimize carpet use. Inspect carpet rolls for any defects or irregularities before cutting, ensuring only high-quality materials are processed.
- **Safety and Maintenance**: Observe all Occupational Health and Safety procedures from day one. Maintain and perform regular checks on forklifts and cutting machines, ensuring they are in proper working condition.
- **Order Management**: Regularly order underlays, supplies, glues, etc., coordinating with administration on requirements and ensuring accurate record-keeping.

**Qualifications**:

- Basic understanding of the carpet industry preferred.
- Capable of manual labor and willing to work overtime as required.
- Strong organizational skills, neatness, and an ability to keep workspaces orderly.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with clients, staff, and management.
- Physically fit to meet the demands of the job.

Pay: $50,000.00

**Experience**:

- Warehouse: 1 year (preferred)
