Our client Sahnisaab P/L (Kutir Indian Restaurant) is looking for a dedicated and experienced Chef. Tasks Include:
· Design and implement innovative menus, including seasonal and special dishes.
· Develop recipes and adjust menus based on customer feedback and trends.
· Ensure variety and creativity in dishes while maintaining food consistency and quality.
· Coordinate and oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient processes.
· Monitor and maintain the overall presentation and quality of the dishes being served.
· Prepare dishes while accommodating any special or dietary requirements of customers and demonstrate cooking techniques to new staff.
· Ensure the highest standards of food preparation, taste, and presentation.
· Conduct regular quality checks and tastings of dishes before they are served.
· Address any food related issues and communicate with managers and other staff.
· Manage the kitchen’s financial performance and develop and implement strategies to minimize food wastage while ensuring cost control.
· Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to standards.
· Encourage a culture of teamwork, motivation, and professional development.
· Oversee purchasing of ingredients, equipment, and supplies while maintaining budgetary guidelines.
· Ensure accurate stock levels are maintained and regularly audited.
· Implement and monitor compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
· Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen.
· Oversee the protected handling, storage, and disposal of food items.
· Work closely with restaurant management to coordinate menu planning, promotions, and events.
· Liaise with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and communication between kitchen and dining areas.
· Address customer feedback and implement improvements where necessary.
· Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by ensuring that food quality and service standards are met.
· Implement guest feedback to enhance menu items or improve service delivery. Key Qualifications and Skills:
· Cert IV or Diploma in the relevant field
· At least 3 years of experience as a chef.
· Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, food trends, and menu development.
· Knowledge of Indian food is a bonus
· Strong leadership and team management skills.
· Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
· Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
· Financial acumen in managing kitchen costs, inventory, and food waste.
· Creative and passionate about delivering high-quality dishes.
