Description
Godolphin Australia is currently seeking highly experienced and capable staff to join stud farms. Positions are available at Northwood Park, Seymour VIC.
**Horse Trainer/Breeding**- Duties will include:
- Overseeing daily care and supervision of horses
- Assisting Veterinarians with ultrasound/reproduction examination including assisting in birthing foals and administering medical treatment to foals
- Preparing young stock for sale
- Monitoring mare ovulation and pregnancy
- Assisting Veterinarians in attending to medical and health needs of horses as required
The salary will be above award
- in the range of $72,500.00 to $77,500.00 per annum depending upon the location, position, and level of responsibility. All positions are full-time.
Essential Skills: A Certificate III or equivalent international qualification, or in the absence of a qualification a minimum of three years professional experience educating and training breeding horses.
In addition, the following maybe required depending on the role:
- A minimum of three years’ full-time experience handling and educating thoroughbreds
- Knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbred racing
- Proven knowledge & experience of horse handling & training methods specific to the thoroughbred breeding industry, including working with stallions and educating young stock
- Proven ability to train and educate young horses
- Oral and written communication skills of a level to take instruction and provide information
- Ability to work in a team, and independently (or proven management experience if the position is for a foreperson role)
- Knowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment
- Proven as reliable workers, with excellent horsemanship skills
The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of industry best practice, with either international experience or a thorough understanding of the global trends of the thoroughbred industry.
Pay: $72,500.00
