**INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS**

Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fifth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing, transport and health care. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.

Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 69,000 and is culturally rich with 17.4% of residents being born overseas. The area has excellent education, recreation, cultural, social and health facilities and tourism is a developing focus for the region.

**Hourly Rate**:$34.90 (plus 25% casual loading) **Closing**:Friday 13 February 2026 **Casual**

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Greater Shepparton Visitor Services team on a casual basis. The Visitor Centre assistant is primarily responsible for delivering outstanding customer service and visitor experiences to visitors, event participants and residents of Greater Shepparton.

**To be successful in this role you will**:

- Be focussed on providing excellent customer service, demonstrating Council’s values, enthusiasm and ensuring the delivery of best practice visitor servicing;
- Possess a good knowledge of the local and surrounding areas;
- Actively support the promotion of tourism within the Greater Shepparton region.
- Be committed to enhancing Greater Shepparton’s visitor experience by providing quality information and assisting the Visitor Centre’s volunteers to do the same.

Your demonstrated excellence in delivering high-level customer service and ability to work flexibly and cooperatively with paid and volunteer team members will ensure visitors to Greater Shepparton have a memorable experience in our region. The Visitor Centre is open 7 days per week, so applicants must be available to work flexible schedule including weekends and public holidays.
