Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing and transport. The Finance and Rates Department are seeking a proactive and energetic Accounts Payable Officer to join the Accounting Services team. This role provides effective, timely and accurate processing of accounts and a high level of customer service to internal staff and external suppliers. Additionally, this role shares responsibility for daily downloading of financial receipting data from third party facilities and daily upload of all financial receipting files to Council’s finance system. The role also focuses on ensuring compliance with financial controls and mitigating risks associated with accounts payable.

The successful applicant will possess demonstrated experience in accounts payable; strong interpersonal and communication skills including well-developed customer service skills; experience with contemporary financial management systems; and the ability to solve problems.
