This is not light repetitive welding — the role involves heavy structural steel fabrication, reading shop drawings, fitting, tacking and assembling components such as cleats and beams for commercial and industrial projects. It would suit a tradesperson who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys working from drawings, and wants to contribute to visible local structural steel projects without needing to travel away for site work. About the Role
- Must hold Australian trade certification and substantial experience in structural steel fabrication, including proficiency in MIG welding techniques.
- Remuneration: Competitive hourly rate within industry standards plus superannuation.
- Location: Northern Victoria region. Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and work from detailed structural steel drawings.
- Fabricate and assemble heavy steel components accurately.
- Fit and tack cleats, plates, and ancillary components to beams as required.
- Perform MIG welding ensuring high-quality, durable joins.
- Measure and check all fabrication work for precision.
- Operate workshop fabrication machinery safely and effectively.
- Adhere to quality control and safety practices consistently.
- Engage with supervisors and colleagues to meet project timelines.
