Financial Controller — Transport & Logistics Shepparton

SE National is a fast-growing transport and logistics group spanning interstate linehaul, last-mile delivery, and warehousing. We're looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead our finance function from our Shepparton head office. Reporting to the Group CFO and leading a small finance team, you'll take full ownership of the financial performance of the business — delivering accurate, timely information and commercial advice that drives decisions. Key responsibilities
- Financial and performance analysis across the transport operations
- Assessing new business opportunities, including freight tenders and contract pricing
- Management and Board reporting, budgeting and forecasting
- Taxation planning and compliance
- Treasury and loans management, including intra-group loans across the group structure
- Insurance program management
- Oversight of the payroll function About you
- CA or CPA qualified, with min. 5 years' experience preparing a full set of accounts
- Commercial experience at a comparable level, ideally in transport, logistics or a multi-entity group
- Strong Xero skills
- A practical, action-oriented self-starter who works unsupervised and hits deadlines accurately
- Minimum 3+ years of experience managing teams and leading finance functions
- Some exposure to the transport industry preferred Desirable
- Postgraduate or further qualifications in accounting, finance or business (e.g. MBA, Master of Finance)
- Advanced proficiency in Xero and financial reporting tools
- Experience leading and developing a finance team
