Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its robust agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing and transport. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.

Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 65,000, and an expenditure budget in excess of $118 million. The population is culturally diverse with 9.9% of residents being born overseas. The area has excellent education, recreation, cultural, social and health facilities and tourism is a developing focus for the region.

Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Access and Positive Ageing Officer to join our Community Wellbeing Department.

The Access & Positive Ageing Officer position aims to strengthen Council’s commitment to people with disabilities, their families and carers, and the ageing community by working collaboratively in the delivery of projects, programs and events which deliver positive outcomes for the Greater Shepparton community.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in community engagement and the ability to build strong relationships across sectors.

A deep understanding of the issues and challenges faced by the ageing population and people with disabilities, and a commitment to advocating for their needs.

A proactive, enthusiastic attitude, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a dedicated team.

Proven experience in the delivery of projects within scope, timelines, budget and reporting requirements.
