Location: Shepparton Employment Type: Full-Time About Us: CME Steel-Con is a locally owned steel fabrication shop specializing in custom structural steel projects for commercial and industrial clients. Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated metal fabrication apprentice to join our team and undertake a Certificate III in Metal Fabrication. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start a career in the steel fabrication industry and gain hands-on experience in a supportive workshop setting Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the fabrication and assembly of structural steel components
- Learn to read and interpret shop drawings
- Operate fabrication equipment under supervision (punch & sears, bandsaws, drills, welders, etc.)
- Assist with measuring, cutting, fitting, and welding tasks
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Work alongside experienced tradespeople to develop skills and knowledge Essential:
- Genuine interest in metal fabrication and the steel industry
- Willingness to undertake a Certificate III qualification
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely
