The Opportunity The Senior Commercialisation Process Engineer requires a fundamental knowledge of food processing. Requiring experience with and understanding of how certain ingredients and process generally affect products.

You will have a basic understanding of microbiology and food science, should understand engineering principles. You must be able to make sound, technical‑based and data‑driven recommendations on process design and specifications. This position is full‑time fixed term on 9‑12 months.

Process Scale‑Up&Commercialisation

Take ownership of the commercialisation process after product development is completed by food technologists.

Advise project engineers on process specifications required for scaling up production, including heat exchanger parameters, temperature, residence time, screen size, and spraying mechanisms.

Collaboration with Engineering Teams

Work closely with engineers in the plant to ensure that designs align with the process parameters and meet technical specifications.

Provide critical technical input on process designs, ensuring smooth integration of product processes into large‑scale manufacturing.

Technical Guidance&Problem Solving During Scale Up

Provide technical expertise to resolve challenges related to process optimisation and troubleshooting during scale‑up.

Ensure that all processes align with commercial and production goals, ensuring optimal quality, cost efficiency, and timeline adherence.

Conduct lab‑based evaluation to test and validate key theories.

Use experimental data to inform design recommendations and refine manufacturing processes for large‑scale production.

Cross Functional Collaboration

Coordinate with the product development manager, senior food technologists, senior packaging technologist, and engineers to ensure alignment across all stages of commercialisation, from development through to production.

Documentation&Reporting

Maintain thorough documentation of process specifications, testing results, and design adjustments.

Provide regular progress reports to senior leadership, ensuring that stakeholders are kept informed of technical developments and potential risks.

Cost Savings&Continuous Improvement Cost savings and process optimisation is a critical feature of this role. It will require collaboration with internal stakeholders to identify and implement cost savings opportunities for processes and process design. The incumbent will be responsible for experimental trial plans to test and validate improved manufacturing processes and will be accountable to develop and deliver annual cost savings plans in manufacturing process design.

What You Will Bring to the Role This position requires good fundamental knowledge of food processing. It requires experience with and understanding of how certain ingredients and process generally affect products. The incumbent should have a basic understanding of microbiology and food science, should understand engineering principles and be able to work with computer program. The individual must be able to make sound, technical‑based and data‑driven recommendations on process design and specifications.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering, product commercialisation, or manufacturing in a food production environment.

Expert in designing and conducting the appropriate studies relating to processing of food, such as heating and cooling, screening, spraying, enzyme processing, process validation and verification studies, and applying other scientific methods.

Strong written and verbal communication, planning and organisation skills.

Strong technical learning ability including analytical, statistical analysis and problem‑solving skills.

Capable of working independently and staying organised while assuming multiple responsibilities and tasks.
