Job Description Key Responsibilities and Functions Civic Buildings
- To undertake event setups and breakdowns according to scheduled bookings, on behalf of council.
- Adapt to any last-minute changes or requirements to ensure seamless event delivery.
- To provide an effective service to the Community, Public, Councilor’s and Staff in relation to the internal & External events at the Cobram Civic Centre, Yarrawonga Town Hall, Numurkah Town Hall & All other Council Venues.
- Provide access and lock-up of Cobram Civic Centre and perform Maintenance/Cleaning duties as directed.
- Coordinate/attend to special cleaning requirements when necessary to various council assets.
- Advise the Facilities team of maintenance requirements in relation to Council properties used for events and other infastrucure as arises.
- Assist in the Preparation and setup of Venues for events including catering collection for various sources, stocking amenities and kitchen supplies, cleaning and set up of equipment including but not limited to Council Meetings, Staff Meetings and other events as requested in Cobram, Numurkah, Nathalia and Yarrawonga as required.
- Pack up/breakdown of functions and events in venue space upon completion of meetings etc. including securing all furniture & equipment, ensuring all crockery and associated equipment is cleaned and secured.
- Collection, return and distribution of catering, newspapers, dry cleaning and other materials when required.
- Maintain appropriate kitchen stocks/cleaning consumables and accessories, meeting the requirements of Council, staff and visitors.
- Ensure maintenance of equipment including, but not limited to, PA system, whiteboards, display boards, chairs and other equipment at Council’s facilities where events are held.
- Essential Services
- Conduct thorough safety inspections and testing of electrical equipment in various Council assets and infrastructure settings, shire wide, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3760).
- When required assist facilities maintenance with servicing & works on Council’s facilities and infrastructure, when directed. Customer Service
- All customer service duties as requested for benefit of Council.
- Provide facility inspection access for users and potential users of Council facilities where events are held.
- Provide efficient and courteous service to the general public.
- To provide at all times a high level of Customer Service. - Experience in venue management responsibilities.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimum supervision

- Qualifications and/or extensive experience in the areas of event delivery.
- Essential services experience. (ESM)
- Building, Venue or Facilities Service experience. Essential qualifications and experience
- Experience in Customer Service
- Understanding of manual lifting requirements under OHS legislation.
- Driver’s license
- Demonstrated experience with a range of equipment used in venue management.
- Ability to perform various tasks involving heavy lifting, climbing ladders, and moving of equipment.
