Irrigationist Assistant - GVIP (Shepparton)

GV Independent Packers Pty Ltd is a family owned and operated business since 1948, with over 1,500 acres of orchards within the Goulburn Valley region producing a range of apples, pears and stonefruits for supply to the national market and for export. Our company oversees the entire journey of our produce, from production, storage, packing, marketing, and transportation. GV Independent Packers Pty Ltd is seeking a full time Irrigationist Assistant on our site in Shepparton, Victoria 3630. The salary offered is $79499 per annum plus superannuation. Job duties and responsibilities include assisting the Irrigationist/Farm Manager in:
- Determining hydraulic parameters for an irrigation system.
- Implementing and irrigation-related program.
- Scheduling irrigations.
- Selecting and managing pumping systems for irrigation.
- Interpreting and applying irrigation designs.
- Supervising irrigation system installations.
- Supervising irrigation maintenance. The applicant will have the following skills and experience:
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- AQF Certificate II in horticulture, agriculture or in a related field (preferred).
- Ability to operate wide range of farm and plant machinery including tractors and pump.
- Knowledge and experience in agricultural production principles.
- Excellent communication skills.
