Forest and Fire Planning Officer (Shepparton)

As part of the Victorian Government’s response to recommendations from the Great Outdoors Taskforce and Eminent Panel for Community Engagement, the District Forest and Fire Planning Officer will manage or support the delivery of forest recreation and tourism investment within their District. The focus of this position will be to support planning and delivery of forest recreation maintenance and improvement programs to ensure high quality forest recreation sites, tracks, trails and facilities are made available to visitors. This position will work closely with District, Regional and Statewide teams to ensure planning and delivery is informed by local knowledge and aligns with strategic priorities. This position requires a person with a valuable knowledge of forest recreation and experience in planning and delivering recreation (or similar) asset maintenance and improvement programs. Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Knowledge and / or relevant experience in the planning and delivery of forest recreation asset maintenance and improvement programs (or similar) is desirable.
- Procurement and / or contractor management experience is desirable. This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2028. The work location for this position is flexible within the Goulburn District (part of Hume Region) with hybrid work arrangements available. Preferred candidates will be required to undertake pre‑employment screening, including a Declaration and Consent form and a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check. To be eligible for appointment to this role, applicants will possess corresponding work rights for the advertised employment period.
