The Energy Minerals Division provides high‑quality, independent coal analysis and services to many Australian and international coal companies. This Casual Laboratory Technician position is based in Mt Thorley, NSW. Position Overview Flexibility is critical. Candidates may be required to work day, afternoon, or night shifts on weekdays or weekends. Responsibilities
- Accurately conduct physical coal testing and analysis of routine samples.
- Receipting, recording, sorting, and storing coal samples.
- Comply with analytical methods, procedures, SGS quality systems, and onsite HSE standards.
- Maintain analytical and sample‑preparation equipment.
- Deliver quality samples to internal and external customers. Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualification and previous experience in a similar laboratory (desirable).
- Previous coal sampling and testing experience (advantageous).
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team workplace and meet tight deadlines.
- Flexible schedule to cover various shifts and rosters.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport. Note: This role involves manual handling.
