Customer Service / Receptionist – Powerhouse Gym Southside About Us At Powerhouse Gym Southside, we’re more than just a gym — we’re a community. We’re currently looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Customer Service / Reception Team Member to join our growing team. About the Role This is a front-of-house position where you’ll be the first point of contact for our members and guests. You’ll help create an exceptional experience while keeping the day-to-day reception operations running smoothly. Key Responsibilities
- Greet members and visitors warmly and professionally
- Handle check-ins, membership verifications, and guest sign-ins
- Assist in promoting club services, events, and social media content
- Handle cash and EFTPOS transactions accurately
- Communicate effectively with trainers, management and club staff
- Answer incoming calls and respond to enquiries about memberships, classes, and schedules
- Provide information on gym services, promotions, and facilities
- Process membership applications, renewals, and payments
- Book appointments or classes as required
- Maintain cleanliness and order at the reception area
- Handle customer complaints and escalate issues when needed
- Perform basic administrative duties (e.g. filing, data entry, maintaining records)
- Sell merchandise, refreshments, or retail items when applicable
- Monitor security and ensure that only authorised individuals access the gym
- Monitor member access and ensure gym policies are upheld
- Complete till off upon changeover of shift Advantageous Skills
- Experience and confidence with social media management, content creation and basic video/photo editing
- Sound knowledge of social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
- Ability to create engaging content that aligns with our brand and community
- Experience using editing apps/programs such as Canva, CapCut or similar platforms is highly regarded What We’re Looking For
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
- Reliable, punctual and professional presentation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Previous reception, hospitality, retail or customer service experience preferred
