- 26 May 2026 > 22 Jun 2026 Summary Our client is seeking to add a Chef to support the continued growth and success of Angle Vale Tavern, a well-established family-focused community venue operated by the Playford City Patriots Soccer Club. Located in the rapidly expanding northern region of Adelaide, the Tavern is known for its relaxed atmosphere, traditional hospitality, quality dining experiences and commitment to delivering fresh, locally sourced meals for families, groups and visitors alike. The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Plan and prepare high-quality meals across lunch and dinner service periods.
- Monitor food quality throughout preparation, cooking and presentation stages.
- Menu planning and seasonal meal development activities.
- Estimate food requirements and maintain appropriate kitchen stock levels.
- Order fresh ingredients and liaise with local food suppliers regularly.
- Ensure all meals are prepared consistently to venue presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout all kitchen preparation areas.
- Follow and enforce food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff during busy services.
- Demonstrate efficient cooking techniques and safe kitchen procedures to junior staff.
- Assist with controlling food wastage and maintaining portion consistency.
- Prepare ingredients and complete cooking duties within required service timeframes.
- Support catering requirements for group bookings and special functions.
- Monitor kitchen equipment and report maintenance issues when required.
- Assist with training new kitchen staff on operational procedures and standards. Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:
- At least Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Kitchen Management, or an equivalent recognised hospitality qualification is required.
- Minimum one year of recent experience preparing meals within a busy commercial kitchen or hospitality workplace.
- Strong understanding of food safety, kitchen hygiene regulations and safe food handling procedures is essential.
- Ability to maintain meal consistency, presentation standards and efficient service during high-volume dining periods.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams in fast-paced hospitality environments.
- Capability to assist with menu planning, stock ordering and food cost control responsibilities when required.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise multiple preparation and cooking duties effectively each shift.
- Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays within a hospitality roster environment.
