**About the Centre/Service**

Somerville Kindergarten is a community-based kinder that is managed by a volunteer Committee of Management. We have 1 room and we run 3 sessional groups, 2 4yr old groups and 1 3yr old group.

**Work Days of the Role**

Monday,Wednesday and Friday

**Hours of Work of the Role**

11am-2pm 3 times a week. Total of 9 hours.

**Description**
- Provide lunch break support for Early Childhood Teacher/Early Childhood Educators.
- Contribute to the implementation of a high-quality and diverse educational program, completing tasks and activities with mínimal direction.
- Promote and support inclusive practice to ensure that the service can support families from a range of cultures, backgrounds, experiences, and situations.
- Develop and maintain effective and respectful relationships with children, families, and other professionals.
- Undertake mandatory reporting to adhere to child protection guidelines and responsibilities. Record observations of individual children and groups, assess learning, and use for program planning.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Operate within the requirements of the organisation’s policies and procedures, as well as funding and regulatory requirements.
- Provide a secure, healthy, and welcoming environment and ensure that children are supervised at all times.
- Be involved in the development and implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan of the organisation.
- Work in accordance with the standards outlined in the Early Childhood Australia (ECA) Code of Ethics, and Child Safe Standards.
- Support the embedding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in all aspects of the curriculum

**Qualifications**
- Must hold a qualification of a Certificate III/Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, as recognised by ACECQA.
- Hold a current ACECQA compliant First Aid Certificate, including Resuscitation, Asthma Management, and Anaphylaxis.

**Additional Requirements**

Through understanding of the VEYLDF. Through understanding of the NQS. A sound understanding of the Victorian Child Safe Standards. Knowledge and understanding of mandatory reporting requirements.
