6-month Fixed Term Contract (starting June 2026) | Possibility for Extension Preferred Days of Work: Mon, Tues, Wed & Fri (4-week rotating roster, including 1 weekend every month)

About the role An exciting opportunity is available to join the Veterinary Team at RSPCA Victoria’s Pearcedale site. Our Peninsula Veterinarians are responsible for the provision of quality veterinary services for shelter animals contributing to the achievement of the best possible welfare outcome for every animal in our care. You will be working as part of a team alongside experienced Veterinarians, supported by our Nurses and Animal Attendants. We like to train our Vets to do more than the routine so our shelter animals can get the treatment they deserve and need. We have a strong emphasis on team culture, work life balance and mental health. But by far one of the best aspects of working alongside likeminded Vets and Nurses who are dedicated to speaking up on behalf of the underdogs (and cats, and exotics) of the animal world. What we are looking for from you
- A Bachelor of Veterinary Science, current Victorian Veterinary Practitioners Registration, microchipping license and radiation license;
- Minimum 2
- 3 year’s experience
- Capability to conduct simple to complex clinical consultations and surgical procedures independently appropriate to level of veterinary experience
- Ability to operate as a team player, generate enthusiasm in the team and build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills
- Resilience and a strong collaborative drive
- A desire to work with the community to improve animal welfare outcomes What we can offer you

- Victorian driver’s licence,
- Radiation use licence and microchipping implantation certificate
- Availability to work a 4-week rotating roster, including 1 in 4 weekends and some public holidays (preferably available to work Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays).
