Principal Advocacy & Community Development (Innisfail)

The Principal Advocacy & Community Development provides strategic leadership to Council's Communities team, driving the development and delivery of advocacy, community development and community safety initiatives that strengthen community resilience, wellbeing, accessibility and inclusion across the Cassowary Coast. The role leads community research, stakeholder engagement and consultation activities to identify emerging needs and opportunities, translating findings into practical and impactful actions. The Principal provides high-quality policy advice to the Mayor, Council leadership and key stakeholders, while overseeing the planning, implementation and evaluation of initiatives, events, grants and wellbeing programs that align with Council's strategic priorities. Through robust collaboration, strategic thinking and effective program management, the position ensures community-focused outcomes are achieved and sustainable relationships are fostered across the organisation and wider community.
