About the Role: We require an educator who is available to work 5 days per week, working 20-25 hours per week from 6:30-8:30am and 2:00-6:00pm, plus additional hours during vacation care between the hours of 7:00am-6:00pm. As an Assistant Educator your role will include direct child care responsibilities, creating and implementing a creative and engaging educational program as well as contributing to the service quality improvement plan. Your role will involve assisting with the day-to-day operations of the service, including fostering positive relationships with children, families, and the wider community, as well as managing group activities and addressing child protection and well-being concerns. Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for children, promoting diversity and well-being.
- Manage split shifts effectively, balancing childcare duties with administrative tasks.
- Contribute to Work Health Safety (WHS) protocols, including risk minimisation plans and communication strategies.
- Cultivate positive relationships with children, families, and the broader school community.
- Implement routines and procedures while addressing child protection and well-being issues promptly and effectively. About the OSHC Service(s):
- Located within the school grounds, our service benefits from a positive school community that recognises the importance of Out of School Hours Care (OSHC).
- The service has achieved an 'Meeting' rating in an Assessment and Ratings (A&R;) recently in 2025. We're dedicated to maintaining high standards of care and service excellence.
- We offer ample opportunities and flexibly for professional development, fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment. Job Criteria: You must hold the following qualifications/clearances:
- A Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care CHC50121, ACECQA equivalent or be working towards this qualification with extensive experience
- Have relevant experience working with 4 to 12-year-old children or in Early Childhood Education and Care
- Hold current current first aid and CRP certificates (HLTAID012)
- Valid NT Working with Children Check (OCHRE card)
- A National Criminal History Check
- Completed mandatoryNational Child Safety Geccko training
