Assistant Venue Manager | AMC Jakovich Function Centre Join One of WA’s Leading Corporate Event Venues Located in Henderson, the AMC Jakovich Function Centre is a modern and spacious venue specialising in corporate events south of the Perth CBD. With five versatile function spaces, we pride ourselves on delivering smooth and stress-free events for our clients. We are currently seeking an experienced and highly organised Assistant Venue Manager to join our onsite team and play a key role in customer service, event coordination and venue operations at the AMC Jakovich Function Centre. About the Role Reporting to the Venue Manager, this hands-on role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing customer service, event operations, venue coordination and marketing support. As the Assistant Venue Manager, you will assist with all aspects of event operations at the AMC Jakovich Function Centre, supporting clients from enquiry through to successful event delivery. This full time position offers a 37.5-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with rotating shifts of 7:30am – 3:30pm and 9:30am – 5:30pm. Core booking and reception hours for the venue are 8:00am – 5:00pm. Events may occasionally occur outside standard business hours or on weekends and are coordinated by the Venue Manager with support from casual staff. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Venue Manager in all aspects of event operations
- Coordinate and support the delivery of corporate events and functions
- Deliver professional and responsive customer service throughout the event process
- Assist in implementing marketing initiatives to increase event bookings
- Assist with the implementation of website updates, social media accounts and promotional materials
- Market, process, track and convert event enquiries into confirmed bookings
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and returning clients
- Conduct venue tours for prospective clients
- Respond promptly to enquiries and booking requests
- Prepare detailed event orders and ensure all event requirements are actioned
- Coordinate catering, room setup, cleaning and maintenance requirements
- Set up, test and troubleshoot AV and conferencing equipment prior to events
- Oversee event room presentation, setup and pack down
- Collaborate with contractors, suppliers and the Property Management team
- Assist with the financial aspects of events including deposit requests, invoicing and arrears management
- Assist in collecting and reviewing client feedback to support continuous improvement About You To succeed in this role, you will bring:

- Previous experience in event marketing, event management or venue coordination
- Exceptional organisational skills with strong attention to detail
- The ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive and solutions-focused attitude
- Confidence supporting presentations, conferencing systems and AV equipment
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience with Function Tracker or similar software will be highly regarded
