Financial Controller – Commercial Accounting | Brisbane Looking for a hands-on finance leadership role where you can make a genuine impact in a growing national business? We’re seeking a commercially minded Financial Controller who enjoys being close to the numbers, improving processes, and helping drive strong business outcomes. This role is ideal for someone with solid financial reporting experience who wants a broad, commercially focused position with real ownership and visibility across the business. It could also suit an experienced Finance Manager or Senior Accountant ready to step into a broader leadership role. The Role Based in Brisbane and reporting to the CFO, this is a hands-on finance leadership role responsible for financial reporting, management accounting, compliance, and supporting commercial decision-making across the business. You’ll work closely with leadership while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day finance function, helping ensure accurate reporting, strong financial processes, and ongoing operational improvement. The office is currently based in Underwood and will relocate to South / Central Brisbane later this year. What You’ll Own
- Ownership of the general ledger and month-end processes
- Preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts and reporting
- Budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management
- Support delivery of year-end reporting, audits, and compliance requirements
- Financial consolidation across multiple entities
- Oversight of accounts payable and receivable functions
- Commercial analysis to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Continuous improvement across finance processes and reporting
- Leadership, mentoring, and development of the finance team
- Support broader operational and financial administration activities across the business About You
- Experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or Senior Accountant role with leadership responsibilities
- Strong accounting and financial reporting capability
- Comfortable preparing management reporting and supporting commercial decision-making
- Hands-on approach with strong attention to detail and accountability
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly and practically
- Confident leading and developing people
- Experience working across reporting cycles, audits, and compliance requirements
- Ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders across the business
- Multi-entity or growing business experience will be highly regarded What We Offer
