Trade Waiter Petrie Terrace

Position Overview

The Trade Waiter is responsible for delivering high-quality table service within the restaurant, ensuring that all guests receive skilled, efficient, and courteous service. The role requires strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards, including fine dining practices, wine service, and menu knowledge.

Key Responsibilities Greet, seat, and attend to guests in a professional manner. Provide full table service, including taking orders, serving food and beverages, and clearing tables. Set, arrange, and maintain tables in accordance with service standards. Demonstrate knowledge of the restaurant’s menu, including ingredients, cooking methods, and daily specials. Provide wine and beverage service, including recommending pairings, opening, and pouring. Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests. Handle customer complaints courteously and escalate to management when required. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with food safety regulations. Assist with end-of-shift duties including cashing off, restocking, and resetting for the next service. Comply with all RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) and WHS obligations.

Skills & Experience Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role, preferably in fine dining or high-end restaurants. Strong knowledge of food and beverage service techniques. RSA certification (mandatory). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to carry multiple plates, trays, and beverages with confidence. Qualified presentation and customer-focused attitude. Ability to work under pressure during peak service times. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.

Qualifications Certificate III in Hospitality (or working towards) desirable but not essential. On-the-job training in silver service and wine service may be provided.

Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Capacity to lift and carry trays, glassware, and plates safely

Pay: $76,515.00 per year
