Registered Nurse – Competency Assessor (Casual/Contractor) First Priority Care | NDIS Disability Support Provider | Brisbane, QLD About the Role First Priority Care is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to deliver clinical competency training and assessments for our support worker team. This is a casual or contractor engagement, with flexible scheduling to suit your availability. The primary focus of this role is hands-on competency training and sign-off in two key clinical areas: PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) feeding and management, and Airway Suctioning. These are disability-related health supports delivered to NDIS participants in community and home settings. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver face-to-face competency training sessions to support workers in PEG management and oral/nasal suctioning
- Assess and sign off worker competency against relevant clinical standards
- Provide guidance on protected practice, infection control, and participant-specific care protocols
- Liaise with the First Priority Care management team regarding worker readiness and any clinical concerns
- Maintain accurate records of training delivered and competencies assessed
- Contribute to the development or review of competency checklists and training materials as required Requirements
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (RN1 or above) — mandatory
- Current Australian Business Number (ABN) — mandatory
- Demonstrated clinical experience with enteral feeding (PEG) and airway suctioning
- Experience in a disability, community health, or home care setting highly regarded
- Strong communication skills and ability to train non-clinical staff
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain
- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card, QLD) or willingness to obtain
- Evidence of professional indemnity insurance (for contractors) What We Offer
