Disability Support Worker - Sil South Ripley

Support a young person with mental health, epilepsy, and behaviour support

We are seeking an Casual Disability & Mental Health Support Worker to join our team in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) arrangement in South Ripley, QLD.

This is a rewarding opportunity to provide one-on-one support to a client in both their home and family setting.

**About the Role**: In line with the client’s behaviour support needs and sensory sensitivities, only non-smoking staff can be rostered to this position.

You will be working with a client who has a mental health diagnosis, epilepsy, and behaviours of concern. A strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs) and restrictive practices is essential.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Supporting with cooking, cleaning, and general wellbeing
- Providing overnight (sleepover) support and assisting with daily routines
- Promoting safety, structure, and independence
- Engaging the client in personal interests such as Marvel, anime, and computer gaming

**Shift Pattern
- CAS cover during festive season** **Week 1**
- Monday 1430-2200 plus sleepover 730am finish
- Friday 1600-2200 plus sleepover 6am fiinsh
- Sunday 1400-2200 plus sleepover 6am finish

**Week 2**
- Monday 1430-2200 plus sleepover 6am finish
- Friday 1600-2200 pls sleepover 6am finish
- Sunday 1400-2200 plus sleepover 6am finish

**Pay Rates (SCHADS Award
- Level E3.1 Casual)**:

- Base hourly rate: $35.15
- Afternoon shift (ends between 8pm-midnight): $38.67
- Active night shift (starts before 6am or ends after midnight): $39.37
- Saturday: $49.21
- Sunday: $63.27
- Public Holiday: $77.33
- Sleepover allowance: As per SCHADS Award (passive overnight)

About You:

- Minimum 12 months of experience in mental health or disability support
- Confident in implementing PBSPs, managing restrictive practices, and responding to epilepsy
- Calm, qualified, and trauma-informed
- Holds current First Aid & CPR, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and Blue Card
- Has completed the NDIS Quality, Safety and You module
