Join Our Team as a Support Worker for a Marvel and Anime Enthusiast!
About the Role:
We are currently seeking a Casual Disability Support Worker to work with our Male client with Schizophrenia and ASD in South Ripley.
We’re looking for someone who understands the importance of creating a positive, engaging workplace for our client, who is a fan of Marvel, Anime, and computer gaming. As part of this role, you'll be supporting them in their home in South Ripley, helping with domestic tasks and overall well-being.
If you're passionate about providing person-centered care and building meaningful connections, this could be a great fit for you.
Key Responsibilities:
Support client with day-to-day activities, including cooking and cleaning
Encourage and engage in their interests, especially Marvel, Anime, and gaming
Provide care in line with Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP) and restrictive practices
Assist with general well-being and support in a SIL (Supported Independent Living) setting
Sleepover Shifts Available*:
Thursday 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM (sleepover from 10pm to 6am)
- 6 hours
Saturday 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM (sleepover from 10pm to 6am)
- 8 hours
Additional shifts to cover leave and short notice also available
Skills/Experience:
Certificate III in Disability or equivalent or at least 1 year relevant experience
Experience in mental health support work
Experience with schizophrenia and/or autism
- highly regarded
Licences/Credentials:
Current First Aid and CPR certification
Valid driver's licence and vehicle with comprehensive insurance
Working with Children Check QLD / Blue Card
NDIS Worker Screening Check / Yellow Card
NDIS Quality Safety and You Certificate
- modules completed online
