The Role: We are seeking an IT Support Consultant to provide timely, accurate and customer focused IT support across SMCT employees and sites. Reporting to the IT Operations Lead, you will work as part of the Helpdesk team to manage incoming service desk requests, provide Level 1 and Level 2 support and contribute to the smooth operation of SMCT’s IT environment. This is a varied role supporting desktop, network, Microsoft 365, AV, printing and systems administration activities, while maintaining a strong focus on service delivery, communication and continuous improvement Responsibilities:
- Manage incoming IT Service Desk tickets, enquiries and escalations, ensuring requests are actioned within agreed service levels
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support across desktop, remote, printing, network, communications and AV environments
- Support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Azure and related systems administration activities
- Build, install, test and maintain IT hardware, software and services across the desktop and broader IT environment
- Monitor ticket trends, asset registers and system performance, preparing reports and recommendations for improvement
- Coordinate with vendors and external providers to resolve issues and support operational requirements
- Create and maintain IT documentation, knowledge base articles, processes and user support materials
- Provide staff inductions, user support and guidance to promote effective use of IT systems and services Your Profile:
- Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience in a Service Desk, Helpdesk or similar IT support role
- Strong capability providing Level 1 and Level 2 IT support and systems administration
- Experience with Microsoft desktop environments, Microsoft 365, Active Directory and Azure
- Familiarity with Microsoft servers, VMware environments and general network administration
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to support users at all levels
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to identify recurring issues and recommend improvements
- Experience working with external vendors, suppliers or consultants
