Newington College is seeking to appoint a Newington College Army Cadet Unit Logistics Officer (LOGO) on a casual basis.

The Newington College Army Cadet Unit was initiated in 1869 and is the longest continuously running unit in the country. The Cadet program at Newington is a youth development program which encourages learning, independence, self-motivation and leadership in a military context. It is also an opportunity to develop endurance, physical fitness and mental strength and character.

The LOGO ensures the effective planning, supply and accountability of all equipment and stores in the unit. In particular, the LOGO leads the planning and execution of the Annual Camp and Promotions Camp, ensuring all activities are coordinated, resourced, and delivered to the highest standard. Supporting the Officer Commanding and Operations Officer, the LOGO plays a critical role in maintaining high standards of presentation, accountability and logistical support across all NCACU activities.

About You

We have deliberately not provided set and narrow selection criteria. However, it would be expected that the successful candidate will:


- Need to either be/or be willing to work towards becoming an Officer of Cadets, through the Australian Army Cadets
- Have knowledge with regards to the structure of the army and be aware of the associated courtesies, protocols and military standards.
- High level of professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently when required.
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to respond effectively to changing operational needs.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Work effectively as a member of an enthusiastic team
- Enjoy working with students at the College
- Show a genuine appreciation and commitment to pastoral care and youth development
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail in large scale projects
- Understand and adhere to the College’s child safeguarding policies and practices
