**About the role**

As a _Disability Support Worker,_ working within our Supported Independent Living homes, you’ll provide person-centred support that empowers people with disability to build independence, confidence and connection. No two days are the same — one day you might be supporting someone to learn new life skills, the next helping them get out into the community or achieve a personal goal.

You’ll be part of a supportive team that genuinely cares about the people we support — and about each other.
- We currently have multiple roles based in our Stanthorpe area for Residential SIL Homes for either permanent or casual roles. Sleepover and weekends shifts required._

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Supporting people with daily living activities, personal care and routines
- Assisting clients with manual handling using hoists and slings
- Encouraging independence, choice and inclusion
- Supporting community access, social activities and wellbeing
- Building trusted relationships with clients, families and colleagues
- Maintaining safe, respectful and positive environments

**What we’re looking for**:

- A caring, patient and respectful approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Reliability and a positive, can-do attitude
- Availability to work a range of shifts (including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and sleepovers
- penalty rates apply)
- The capacity to meet the physical requirements as manual handling tasks are involved
- A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous but not required

If you’re new to the sector, we’ll support you with training and development.

**You will be required to hold or willing to obtain**:

- Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card)
- First Aid & CPR Certification
- National Criminal History Check (Police Check)
- Australian open Driver’s License with comprehensive insurance on your vehicle
