Civil Estimator - Water (City of Campbelltown)

About the Company This civil contractor are a family owned company who are continuing to grow as a leading contractor in the Sydney, Illawarra and Southern Highlands areas. Their main expertise lies in water & wastewater infrastructure, however, they also deliver works in civil and earthmoving. About the Role The Estimator will be part of a small team tendering on Sydney Water packages of works on various civil projects, predominantly subdivisions. The role will report directly to the owner of the business and further down the line will run the estimating team themselves. Key Responsibilities
- Review of contract documents including scope of works, specifications etc at tender stage.
- Develop lump sum pricing / bill of quantities on a range of civil projects.
- Risk management and protected construction techniques when developing construction methodologies and programs with construction team.
- Manage multiple tenders at any one time.
- Produce tenders from $1 million to $10 million. (multiple packages of works)
- Estimate and monitor the projects through the construction phase to handover.
- Assisting with identifying and preparing variations and EOT’s in accordance with the head contract. Key Requirements
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Engineering.
- Experience tendering on Sydney Water projects for a tier 2/3 contractor (mandatory).
- Proven track record with more than 3 years’ experience in Australia.
- Ability to interpret drawings.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Ability to work in isolation to meet deadlines.
- Excellent MS Excel skills with ability to construct MS Excel spreadsheets to suit relevant tenders.
