Support Worker (Strathalbyn)

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

Your role as a Support Worker will require you to meet with clients and help them to live as independently as possible. This includes the provision of both emotional and physical support as needed to ensure clients can feel in control of their lives and assist in identifying gaps in care to support them in a positive manner.

**MAIN DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES**: The performance of a broad range of tasks involving basic skills in the provision of domestic assistance and other support including (but not limited to):

- Activities of daily living
- showering, toileting, dressing, medication (where competent), and other reasonable support as requested by the Client
- Assisting with meals/light meal preparation
- Cleaning and tidying
- Shopping (Including transportation)
- Accompanying client to appointments or other outings
- Companionship
- Other reasonable client requests
- Taking responsibility for and ensuring the quality of work and support provided
- Maintaining a clean and secure workspace, and abiding by work health and safety policies and procedures and the Code of Conduct
- Other duties or tasks as directed within the scope and skills of the role.

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**

**Qualifications**:

- Certificate III in Individual Support Disability or healthcare support or higher, and/or
- Prepared to complete such studies to support the position offered.

**Experience**:

- Experience working within such areas as Disability Support Services, Aged Care, or similar industries
- Reporting incidents, accidents, or other critical matters to ensure the safety and well-being of the client
- Driver’s Licence
- Current
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Disability services -1 year of experience (preferred)
- DHS & Police Clearances

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: From $32.46 per hour
