Description
Role Principal Infrastructure Engineer at City of Moreton Bay. Salary: From $117,990 per annum + 12% super (level 7), with a 4.5% increase effective 1 July. Versatile 72.5 hour fortnight. Hybrid working, some work‑from‑home days. Location: Strathpine. Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and direction for the maintenance and enhancement of ICT systems
- Design, plan and implement secure, high‑performing network solutions
- Research and advise on emerging technologies and industry best practices
- Act as senior escalation point and support complex troubleshooting and incident resolution
- Lead and contribute to ICT infrastructure projects from planning through to delivery
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
- Analyse performance data to support capacity planning, security compliance, and continuous improvement
- Mentor and support team members, fostering a collaborative high‑performing environment About the role As a key member of our ICT Infrastructure & Security team, you will lead the development and support of enterprise network solutions, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and aligned with our strategic direction. You will act as a senior technical expert and escalation point, guiding projects and mentoring while driving innovation across our technology landscape. Qualifications and Experience
- Extensive experience managing complex ICT infrastructure environments, including enterprise‑scale networks and systems
- Advanced expertise in networking technologies (LAN/WAN, routing, switching, wireless) and network design
- Strong capability in network security, including firewalls, VPNs, and threat mitigation practices
- Proven experience with cloud and hybrid environments (e.g. Azure or AWS)
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and optimise scalable and secure infrastructure solutions
- High‑level troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills, including root‑cause analysis of critical incidents
- Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, and escalation support within ICT teams
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, translating technical concepts into business outcomes Advantages
