- From $117,990pa + 12% super (level 7) – with a 4.5% increase coming 1 July

- Location: Strathpine Join City of Moreton Bay as a Principal Infrastructure Engineer and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow. We are looking for an experienced Principal Infrastructure Engineer to provide technical leadership across our ICT network workplace. This is an exciting opportunity to influence the design, delivery, and optimisation of critical infrastructure that supports our community, operations, and future growth. Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and direction for the maintenance and enhancement of ICT systems
- Design, plan and implement secure, high‑performing network solutions
- Research and advise on emerging technologies and industry best practices
- Act as a senior escalation point, supporting complex troubleshooting and incident resolution
- Lead and contribute to ICT infrastructure projects from planning through to delivery
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
- Analyse performance data to support capacity planning, security compliance, and continuous improvement
- Mentor and support team members, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing environment About you As a key member of our ICT Infrastructure & Security team, you will lead the development and support of enterprise network solutions, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and aligned with our strategic direction. You will act as a senior technical expert and escalation point, guiding projects and mentoring others while driving innovation across our technology landscape. Qualifications
- Extensive experience managing complex ICT infrastructure environments, including enterprise‑scale networks and systems
- Advanced expertise in networking technologies (LAN/WAN, routing, switching, wireless) and network design
- Strong capability in network security, including firewalls, VPNs, and threat mitigation practices
- Proven experience with cloud and hybrid environments (e.g. Azure or AWS)
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and optimise scalable and secure infrastructure solutions
- High‑level troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills, including root cause analysis of critical incidents
- Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, and escalation support within ICT teams
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes Benefits
