About the Role Position title: Leader, Literacy Policy Early Years. The Leader will provide strategic leadership across South Australia in the development and implementation of research-informed literacy policies and programs for children from birth to eight years old. This role involves translating evidence into contemporary policy, initiatives, and teaching practices in alignment with the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standard, South Australian Curriculum for Public Education, and the department’s overall strategy. Key responsibilities include:
- Drive the analysis and integration of local, national, and international research.
- Manage the design, delivery, and evaluation of literacy initiatives, resources, and guidance.
- Offer expert advice and work collaboratively with stakeholders across the education system to ensure inclusive, responsive, and effective approaches. Qualifications Essential: A tertiary qualification in education and current full teacher registration. Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in Early Childhood Education; Leadership experience. Special Conditions The successful applicant must obtain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) before employment, which is renewed every five years. The incumbent also must complete the RRHAN‑EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect
- Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online Fundamentals course, to be updated every three years. Remuneration STL3 $152,287 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation 12%. Other Details Location: 5007
