Contract RF Engineer | Outside IR35

Cambridge | in office

Our client is looking for a Contract RF Engineer to join their team to support the development and validation of next‑generation wireless communication systems.

This is a hands‑on engineering role focused on discrete RF design across both transmit and receive paths, with a particular emphasis on frequency generation and VCO design. You’ll be working as part of a multidisciplinary product development team, contributing across the full lifecycle from circuit design and validation through to integration and debug within a complete end product workplace.

KEY TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE Recent experience in discrete RF circuit design and validation Robust knowledge of frequency generation and VCO design Experience designing TX and RX circuits within the 400MHz – 900MHz range Understanding of RF component selection, market availability, and obsolescence management Experience working on integrated end products rather than standalone RF modules Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with cross‑functional engineering teams

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE TETRA or PMR communications experience Module or chipset integration/design within the 2GHz – 5GHz range, including LTE EMC debug and troubleshooting experience
