Island Berries Tasmania is a growing Tasmanian food production business proudly working with local produce to craft premium products. Based in Cambridge, we're a close-knit team committed to quality, food safety, and continuous improvement. As we grow, we're looking for a hands-on Maintenance Manager to keep our site and equipment running at their best. The Role Reporting directly to the Managing Director and General Manager, this part-time role operates across five days per week and offers the right person genuine ownership of all maintenance activity on site — from preventative maintenance and contractor coordination through to compliance documentation, calibration schedules, and food safety requirements. This is a practical, on-the-tools role where no two days are the same. You'll be the person who keeps things running, and who builds the systems and paperwork trails to make sure they stay that way. What You'll Be Doing
- Managing and performing preventative maintenance across site and equipment
- Maintaining and updating the Preventative Maintenance Schedule, including equipment calibration
- Reviewing and actioning the Maintenance Log and Maintenance Request Forms in a timely manner
- Managing compliance documentation and maintaining accurate maintenance records in line with food safety and audit requirements
- Ensuring compliance with Section 21 of the Coles Food Manufacturing Supplier Requirements
- Conducting food safety risk assessments relating to equipment and site maintenance
- Liaising with contractors and suppliers for maintenance, repairs, and calibration
- Obtaining quotes and sourcing materials for maintenance and repair work
- Developing and maintaining systems for stock control of tools, parts, and equipment
- Organising work schedules and work areas in line with Lean principles
- Using maintenance management software to log, track, and report on maintenance activity
- Collaborating with the Quality Assurance Officer and Production Manager on new processes relating to food safety plans What You'll Bring
- Proven experience in general machine maintenance, fitting and turning
- Confidence with maintenance management software and digital record-keeping systems
- Strong compliance paperwork skills — you understand the importance of documentation and take pride in getting it right
- Experience with pneumatics
- Experience with boilers and steam lines
- Solid computer literacy including Microsoft Office
