Software Engineer (Platform Engineering) (Eight Mile Plains)

The Company

Wenco International Mining Systems (), a subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery (HCM), provides world-class productivity software and operator safety solutions for the world’s surface mining operations.

Wenco has R&D; offices located in Australia, Canada and Chile. his role is based in Brisbane, working within the group delivering next-gen Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS) utilising Open Autonomy.

The Role

You will join an agile product development team creating Wenco’s next generation Open Autonomy platform. We are looking for someone with strong technical capability for a team creating high performance, high availability business critical capabilities. Reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager, you will be part of the team responsible for building out technology platforms to enable operation, monitoring and support of autonomous haulage systems.

The Experience

Must have:


- A minimum of 3 years in hands-on technology roles
- A robust software development background, preferably in Python and C++
- Experience with pipeline automation
- Commercial IaC experience. Terraform preferred.
- You have worked with complex distributed systems with interactions between sensors, edge computing, fixed and wireless communications channels
- Highly capable at systems analysis and design
- You have experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure Nice to have:


- You have prior experience with the mining industry and/or mining operational systems such as Asset Health or Fleet Management
- You have worked in the autonomous vehicle or robotics industry The Benefits

- Bachelor's Degree in Software or Systems Engineering or equivalent
- Must be currently eligible to work in Australia
