Assistant Project Manager
- Construction Sanchi Development is a boutique residential property development company delivering both high end residential and state partnered build-to-rent projects across Brisbane. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Project Manager (Construction) to join our team to assist in overseeing development projects from planning and design through to construction and completion. While you'll be involved in the entire property development life cycle, this position's requirement focuses more on the construction phase. Therefore, an excellent opportunity for candidates with a strong construction background wanting to work on the developer side. About the Role Working alongside senior directors, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing both private and state partnered development projects that will be under contract to 3rd party construction companies but managed through Sanchi Development. Ensuring these projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Key Responsibilities involve assisting senior directors to:
- Manage development projects leading to the construction phase, through to building completion and post completion defect management.
- Review design documentation and provide practical construction input throughout the life cycle.
- Coordinate communication between Sanchi development and the building contractor.
- Actively attend site for both routine walk abouts and scheduled meetings to monitor progress and quality control.
- Monitor internal project programmes, budgets, risks, and milestones.
- Manage contract administration, variations, and Extension of Time claims.
- Besides builders, liaise with council, certifiers, engineers, other consultants and service authorities when required.
- Prepare regular project findings, updates and reports to the directors. About You To apply successful in this role, you must have:
- Minimum 3–5 years previous full-time experience in the property development and residential construction industry, either in a contract administration, development management, project management, quantity surveying, site coordination, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, costs and project delivery.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
- High level fluency in the English language is a must.
- Current driver's licence and permanent residency status Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, Building, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Experience working for a builder, developer, or similar consultancy.
- Knowledge and experience in Queensland construction, development processes and commercial practises.
