**The Opportunity**
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our project team to undertake research into the discovery and development of bioactive compounds in Australian stingless bee propolis. The project titled _“Unlocking stingless bee propolis for a sustainable future”_ will expand on research by UniSC’s Centre for Bioinnovation that identified for the first time 16 types of Australian high-grade propolis, or ‘bee glue’ produced by honeybees, brimming with enough antioxidants and other chemical properties to spark a new national industry for food and health products.

**You will**:
- lead and manage the administrative functions in support of the research project titled “Unlocking stingless bee propolis for a sustainable future”; and
- provide comprehensive research support to the Chief Investigator in the delivery of the research project, including contributing to laboratory-based research activities and data analysis, supporting researchers and the drafting of papers for publication.
**About you**: You possess a positive and engaging demeanour, enabling excellence for research outcomes, colleagues and project partners. Your well-developed interpersonal skills and exceptional written and verbal communication allow you to successfully communicate research findings. You enjoy interdisciplinary research, collaborate cohesively and share your expertise to contribute to the ongoing success of research outcomes.
**You will possess**:
- completion of a relevant doctoral qualification in Pharmacology or Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training;
- skilled in the extraction and analysis of bioactive compounds using advanced analytical instruments such as HPLC, LC-MS, LC-MS/MS and GC-MS;
- experience with developing and conducting assays to test bioactivities, safety, and efficacy of potential therapeutic compounds;
- proficiency with therapeutic product formulation and regulation;
- experience with conduct of complicated experiments in PC1 and PC2 laboratory setting;
- evidence of working within a multidisciplinary team environment;
- experience with the development of antimicrobial drug is desirable but not essential;
- experience with molecular biology techniques such as DNA extraction and PCR is desirable but not essential;
- research experience and potential including: refereed publications and other acknowledged research outputs that are discipline specific; and
